Origin: Baja California

Fan-type palms.

Slow grower with slender, flexible trunk. Eventually tall, reaching 125 feet in its native Baja California.

Trunk sheds leaves when old. Leaves are 3 feet long, light gray green.

Has a habit of dying suddenly if kept in pots and roots are allowed to reach the bottom of the pot.

Hardy to 26 degrees F. Grows easily from seed, even from old seed.

Native to desert springs central Baja California where it is very endangered due to cutting for scaffolding and wood.
