Round-headed upright and fast-growing to 70 feet or more. Slender green leaves. Tough and hardy. Closely related to Corkscrew willow (Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa').
Long lived tree adaptable to wide ranges of soil conditions, including deserts. Branching habit results in globe shape.
Well known for fast growth, beautiful deep green color and characteristic shape.
Susceptible to multitude of insects and diseases.
