Use as casual ground cover in small areas. Attractive as borders along paths, between flower bed and lawn, and among rock groupings.
Evergreen grass-like perennial.
Forms large clumps but does not spread by underground stems. Loose growth habit, fast spreading. 1 to 1-1/2 ft. high.
Dark green grassy leaves to 2 ft. long and 1/2 inch wide. Dark violet beds and flowers, rather dense. 6-8 inch spike clusters resembling grape hyacinth. Flowers followed by round shiny black fruit.
Protect from snails and slugs.
